Supervision

I believe that each of these five conditions are extremely important in the development of new teachers.  As such, when I supervise an intregral part of the process is the interns reflection on their teaching experience.  As I meet with them or converse with them in alternate manners we continually discuss the importance of finding a balance between their professional life and the challenges it poses and their personal life.  Too often good teachers leave the profession because they never learn to find that balance.  Often in our discussions I will model for them possible scenarios that they could try, in this situation or another, and role playing is also a powerful tool in helping to expand their perspectives.  And ofcourse being a support system in any way that I can as well as challenging them to achieve their potential are each significant behaviors that I as a supervisor feel are crucial for being successful in helping new teachers.
